how clean are the box mounts?
Well if you're talking about the bed mounts if making sure because I'm not a mechanic they were pretty clean when I pull them off and it's the first time the bad has ever been taken off
make sure they are bare metal and use some dielectric grease on them before you set the box back on.
The ground strap wire coming from the fuel pump was corroded and broke I replace the connector clean the frame where I had a good clean surface and smooth read grounded it the fuel pump engaged put everything back together the truck started up drove it into town came out in the truck would not start again no connecting to the fuel pump free grounded fuel pump and started
Sorry for the bad spelling using auto type have a bad hand
sounds like the ground in the pump is bad.( or wire in harness )
So what can I do to solve that issue do I have to replace the whole fuel pump
I was trying to upload a picture not sure how to do that
before you replace the pump check your wire harness from the pump out.
Can the harness be replaced or do you have to change the whole fuel pump
you shouldn't have to replace the harness just check for any damaged wires.
after I regrounded the truck it started back up drove in a little bit then I park the truck it would not start again I checked the wires like you said not sure which one it is but after wiggling the wires I got connection to the fuel pump and the truck started again no wire Look bear so how do I determine which ones bad
alright good job! now you need to pull on each wire littie by little and see when the insulation streches that will tell you if the wire broke inside.( or use a scehmatic which i dont think you have.) It still could be the fuel pump. keep at it.
I replaced the fuel pump on a 95 chevy pu 2500 does the ground have to be hooked up in order for it to run it ran for a little bit and now it won't start
A cam sensor will do that too Dodge neon that did the same thing whenever the cam sensor got hot it wouldn't start you let it cool off and it would start up
