I have a 1995 Silverado z71 5.7L. It will randomly lose all power both while in motion or stationary and sometimes will kick itself back on. Every once in a while when it does this it will not turn back on. No lights on the dash or anything. Almost like there is no battery in the truck. I have tested the battery and checked the terminals and everything appears to be okay but obviously there's something wrong.

Check the pick-up coil in the distributor. Gently pull on the two wires running to it. They should feel solid. The wires like to break there.
