1992 Chevy Suburban Starting Issue:

Asked by OklahomanAssault May 30, 2019 at 10:07 AM about the 1992 Chevrolet Suburban C1500 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It runs great with slight missing at stop lights occasionally. I add fuel to the throttle body and it fires right up and runs almost perfect. So far, I have replaced the fuel pump, checked all the fuses (including the fuel pump fuse under the hood), cleaned the plugs, rebuilt the throttle body, replaced the fuel pump, and replaced the idle air control valve. It has a 350 engine. Help me please. I am out of things to fix.

Those trucks are famous for the distributor going bad check the inside of the distributor and make sure there’s no play

I did replace the distributor, the rotar, the plug wires, the plugs, the fuel pump, and rebuilt the throttle body. After all of that. It ended up being the injectors. It starts every time now. However, in the mornings it wont start. I have to use either (Starting Fluid) to start it almost every morning. Crazy! But, it runs and sounds great now with all new firing system and fuel system. Thank you.

Starting fluid? I use that for the pony engine on the Cat and my lawn mower. How many miles on your engine? It may be time to replace or sleeve it. Have you checked the compression of your cylinders?
