1995 Chevy 1500 not starting after tune up

Asked by Aron Jan 03, 2021 at 04:08 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Stepside 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Its got a 5.7 350, the truck started before I did the
tune up: Spark plugs, Spark Plug wires, distributor
cap and rotor. I did all of that and now the the truck
cranks but does not start. Before I did the tune up I
replaced the fuel pump because the truck was
sitting for a few years thus why I decided to do a
tune up. I’m pretty sure I have the firing order
correct, but if not is there a video or diagram I can
follow? Is there something with the ignition timing
wrong? I read about a connection under the glove
box I have to unplug and plug back in. I redid the
whole thing to make sure I have the firing order
correct and I took out the distributor rotor and
inspected it still nothing seemed to be wrong. Any
ideas? Also I have a 96 Tahoe sitting next to the
truck. It’s got a vortec in it same 5.7 other than
mines a 350 and the other is a vortec. Is it possible
I can just swap the distributor cap from the Tahoe
to the truck?

The firing order is 1 8 4 3 6 5 72 If it was running before you worked on it, have to double check your work. Battery has a full charge and connections all good?

Pull any spark plug, crank the engine, see if you get a spark, next, verify fuel pump is running find the relay, make sure it is picking up, put you finger on it, can feel when it picks up just a few suggestions
