running and brake lights

Asked by adwilsonhp9 Feb 10, 2014 at 05:55 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I apply the brakes the running/dash lights come on. At night when the lights are on
it seems my brake lights are on continuously. I have already replaced the headlight and
brake light switches. Please help

Check your wiring. I'd start at the back of the truck around the trailer plug if you have one, if not the tee just under the bed by the bumper. The tail light lead and the brake lights must be touching somewhere. If the wiring looks good check the light and light sockets

something is crossed or a single phase bulb is in place of a dual phase somehow
