Wont stay timed and #1 exhaust vavle barely
moving. Backfires out of tbi runs poorly no power
curious on maybe what the hell could be the culprit

Bad valve lifter. The lifter no longer can hold oil pressure to push up on the push rod to the rocker arm to push down on the valve.

A worn camshaft will not change the static ignition timing unless the distributor drive gear is worn out. Is it possible that the camshaft is broken? Or is the timing chain or distributor bad?

okay so I just did my tune up. I drove the truck yesterday and it drove fine. everyone keeps telling me that the timings off. but I have everything in the right firing order and now its not starting its back firing and now I have smoke coming from under the hood. the spark im getting is an orange color. the truck is acting like it wants to start the motor turns but it wont completely start. please help! 4 Answers

just changed spark plugs, cap, rotors, and wires. the truck ran fine and started fine just yesterday. Chevy C1500, Motor350 5.7 V8.

i have a 95 chevy c1500 v8 200k plus miles. new battery. seems to short out and die, and wont restart. when key is turned on the amp gauge barely moves up. ive tried fumbling with the obvious wires (+ - wires etc) with no change. its done this once before. i let the truck sit for about a month then bought a new batt and problem went away. today while driving it died, with the same symptoms. also ive notice that when driving the blinkers make the amp gauge fluctuate down with every flash. thanks in advance for response 11 Answers
