okay so I just did my tune up. I drove the truck yesterday and it drove fine. everyone keeps telling me that the timings off. but I have everything in the right firing order and now its not starting its back firing and now I have smoke coming from under the hood. the spark im getting is an orange color. the truck is acting like it wants to start the motor turns but it wont completely start. please help!

just changed spark plugs, cap, rotors, and wires. the truck ran fine and started fine just yesterday.

Chevy C1500, Motor350 5.7 V8.

Did you disconnect the timing wire before you attempted to set the timing? It should be under a cover on the firewall. A tan wire connector I think. You have to disconnect it while using your timing light and adjusting the distributor. Disconnecting it takes the pcm out of the equation, so that it isn't trying to compensate for your timing procedure.

Is it possible that you didn't get the wires back on the correct plugs? Happened to me once.

that was the picture I took before I replaced everything.. all 8 plugs and wires are there..
