I HAVE A 1993 SILVERADO 1500 AND AM GETTING NO POWER TO THE A/C CLUTCH WHEN THE A/C BUTTON IS PUSHED INSIDE THE VEHICLE, BUT I CAN HEAR THE RELAY WORKING. THE REST OF THE CONTROLS ON THE A/C CONTROL PANEL WORK FINE AND AM GETTING POWER TO THE DRIER. CHECKED THE OBVIOUS FUSE AND IT WAS FINE ALSO??? COULD THERE BE A FUSIBLE LINK I HAVE MISSED??

Hi Simplast, Many other vehicles have exactly what you're describing - an inline fuse or an additional fuse of some kind. I don't know if your compressor is new, remanufactured or original, but you may have something wrong internally as well. Just a suggestion. Good luck!
there might be a pressure switch somewhere on your A/c system, if you dont have enough freon in the system the switch will not allow the clutch to engage the pump, which might explain why everything looks fine but you're still not getting any cooling
what matthew said. also take a circuit tester and check and make sure your getting power. sounds like it's low on refrigerant or it has a fuse blown which is pretty common.
sounds like your low pressure switch is gone,is screwed into dryer, unplug it take a piece of wire and cross over wire into plugin, see if compressor comes on,if it does the switch is bad just unscrew it and replace it.

okay all these were good suggestions the pressure switch is on the side if the dryer/accumulator unplug the wiring harness and jumper across the terminals with the engine off key on the compressor should not be running if there is no refrigerant in the truck. if the the clutch gets power then you have 3 possible causes #1 empty system or very low less than 0.35 lbs, #2 bad pressure sensor. #3 bad wiring harness or wiring. if it doesn't get power from any of these, just because the relay is making noise doesn't mean its working.
