Chevrolet K1500 Cheyenne

Asked by Seth_G Jan 26, 2018 at 06:10 PM about the 1991 Chevrolet C/K 1500 LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1991 Chevrolet K1500 Cheyenne that will not go
into drive. If I crank it up and immediately put it into gear I
am able to go some a few inches until it goes out again. If I
let it warm up it will only go into drive or reverse if it feels
like. I am unable to feel it be put into gear. Could it be my
transmission solenoids? Someone please help!

It could be or it could be the torque converter. You're probably better of taking it to a transmission shop and paying the diagnose fee than to start replacing parts. There's a solenoid kit on ebay...https://www.ebay.com/i/190777886757?chn=ps
