http://www.powerblocktv.com/sites/trucks/episodes/index.php?ep_num=TK2008-01&ep_sea=0801 on the "powerblock" the show "trucks" is doing a build off between a 454SS and a lighting. this link will give you a bunch of ideas. there are a few video's, they have a ton of info. and there are links to the companies.

#1 Better air cleaner. #2 Better spark plugs #3 Better exhaust pipe, muffler. #4 Better coil, distributor, ICM... #5 Better carb or injectors. #6 Better Exhaust manifolds or headers. Think of the engine as an air pump. Anything you can do to improve air flow in, cumbustion and air flow out will help. The order of this list will change depending on cost of parts.

cheapest way, most people dont think about is oil, plugs and wires, intake. to keep power movin to the ground, you will need to keep ur trans soild by keeping fluids in check(i would use royal purple in trans, and rear end) this insures that u keep the power u gain from ur engine going on down to the pavement

lol at the guy who said throttle body spacer. biggest waste of money ever. they do nothing. the fact people actually believe they work is hilarious.
