Replaced timing chain and gears on my 1990 chevy cheyenne v6 cuz dad said 'timing chain is out'. it seemed kinda loose too. The new one is the same way and it still wont start.Can i tighten the chain?

One side of the chain is tight and the other is typically loose. These things can usually go over 200k miles and still be in decent shape
