Hi, I have a 07 Toyota Camry. I have been having issues with it since I bought it , it started with me replacing the front catalytic converter which took care of the check engine light. Now when I accelerate my car jerks but it didn't at first it started with a noise like gasp humming . I was told that was the catalytic converter problem, now the same problem has worsen, then I was told that the whole fuel pump assembly was the problem, fixed that, now the car is jerking when accelerating, I was told it may be transmission. Before I spend any more money that I do not have can you please help ?
Maybe paying to have a mechanic diagnose it correctly vs throwing parts at it? Yes, it could be the transmission, but those are expensive. Maybe a throttle body issue or engine or trans mount, or other problem. I would need to be there and drive it to tell you what area to start looking into.
I took it to the shop and they hooked it to the machine and it doesn't read anything. These were mechanics who were guessing instead of knowing what was wrong. Would it be better to attempt to fix or cut losses?
An ignition miss can cause the jerking and the catalytic converter to go bad.
