after an hour of picking it up the belt was off and the air conditioner in two.it is right under the alternater, i am rural finding a mechanic is really hard , i cant trust them and i need to know what could cause the air conditioner to break in two thanks.

Probably bearing failure. The only choice is to install a new AC compressor.
