Grinding Noise When I Turn AC On

Asked by Angel808 Sep 04, 2018 at 02:46 AM about the 2007 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi I have a 2007 Camry LE and a couple of
days ago I noticed there was a grinding or
scraping noise after turning the AC on. Prior
to that the AC has not been blowing cold air
during the day but at night it's not as cold as
it used to be. Sometimes the air feels sticky
and humid like. Not sure if it's because of
the extreme heat here in Nevada it never
used to do that when I was living in Hawaii.
Also can you tell me what the name of the
part is called in the picture?

Ask your local tech to check the refrigerant level in your AC system, my presumtion is insufficient amount of refrigerant. And by the sounds of it, the AC compressor would need replacing. Again ask your local tech to diagnose and confirm. And about the picture, it looks like a couple of things, would need to be zoomed out to accurately tell.

My apologies, didnt realise I could zoom out. The part on the picture marked with number 32 is an engine mount.
