1991 Camaro Rs brake booster

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I bought a 1991 Camaro Rs with a 305 v8 motor and a 4 barrel holly carb. The
issue I am having is the motor will die after I plug in the vaccum line from the
back of the carb to the brake booster. Why is it doing this after I bought and
installed brand new master cylinder and brake booster?

The vacuum line for the brake booster goes to the intake manifold
Exactly and if there's no vacuum connection on the intake manifold you have to connect the vacuum hose below the throttle plates on the carburetor. Hope that helps! Jim

thank you guys for the answers you gave. I figured it out. No it does not have a vacuum on the intake. I actually had to idle up a bit for it to run. I then decided to clean carb and what a bad choice that was. Now its flooding out and will not stay running at all. I bought as rebuild kit and hopefully that will help. Waiting on it now. Thanks again guys..
You're welcome. Glad to help! Whatever you do, if the carburetor is original to the vehicle, do not replace it with a rebuilt one and turn in the core! I made that mistake once with a carburetor and I'll never do that again! It's always better to rebuild the original carburetor or have a reputable shop rebuild it for you! Jim
