I fail to take my battery out of my 1996 XJ6 Jaguar

After 15 degree temperature my 1996 XJ6 Jaguar would not start and
when I tried to jump the battery it just would click but not try to
turnover. What could be wrong the battery was down, but jumping it
did not cause it to turn over???? Help

sounds as if the starter has failed

if it has started since its warmed up battery is wake and will need replaced.A battery can get to a point where jumping it wont help try taking it out and put it on a charge or try the charger w/ it in the car a good garage should be able to check it if you take it to them. if battery checks good the starter could be bad
