im considerin dropping an engine from a wrx to replace the boxer 4 the car currently has. what would i need to do to make this all realistic

you already have that same engine... you bought the "Saabaru"...

Your current engine is the naturally aspirated 2.5 liter motor. The engine from the WRX is Turbocharged. The displacement is dependent on the year of the car you're getting the motor from.
