how do you know that "refrigerant is good"? if it were low things like icing would happen...if overcharged there would be insufficient heat- exchange...actually sounds like a blower problem to me....does your blower work on all speeds? the compressor is probably charge sensitive and is not enough charge in there to keep it running~

the expansion valve is a frequently overlooked item when charging the coolant..up to 15psi or whatever the recommended charge is....may be restricting flow here, causing the compressor to "dead head" and shut down~...just a theory...take it and ask about the expansion valve~
Took it to shop to check freeon level

thanks...was a Heating/Refrigeration guy in 1982...'cept the owner was beating his wife...was ugly and quit from there...but did learn a thing or two about air conditioning tho~
And yes it blows at all speeds
That's crazy....I'm worried its going to be an obscure electrical problem...seems to be a common issue from reading forms but no one post how they fixed it,

I kinda figured, but was covering the bases....these troublesome systems are supposed to be "hermetically sealed" which is impossible with a rotating input shaft...dynamic pressurized seals are not keen, if someone could make them magnetically coupled we'd have a TRUE hermetically sealed system which would need NO refrigerant maintenance...think of your fridge....is easy to seal up around two wires...but a rotating shaft offers a whole new dimension to failures~
