Lost fob key they returned it now car will not
unlock when fob is in ignition bought new fob shell
new battery in remote still nothing cant get car
started car was working before key was lost Help
PCM (vehicles computer) is not recognizing RFID ..chip in key. Do you have an original KEY(s)or have they been lost? programming a FOB is one issue not to difficult, but without the original correct RFID key that's trouble! DEALERS like approx $90 for the FOB and another for $115 "programing" ... I do this with the right electronic gear 5-8 minutes. I suggest trying to locate a local CAN BUS guy that knows what up, to assist you call around. Regards '03 SAAB likes the (Old GM Tech 2) for computer work
Hello yes we have the original fob key for some reason its saying key not reconized and then twice it said imbolizer failure when we first lost it the dealer said it would be 1,000 were just trying to see how we can get car started another way
Dealer said $1000... shameful! The original FOB is where I would begin.. so it lost then recovered ...next you bought a cover and battery and changed (replaced) this "out" and now the immobilizer doesn't recognized it correct?
Yes correct still says key not reconized and as i try to turn it on it said immobolzer failure try again car will not start very frustrated ready to junk it dont know what else to do
Is the ignition cylinder stuck in the down position, making the car think there is a key in it? If you're getting error on the key, look at the circular antenna there around the ignition key and the connections between that and the TWICE unit.....SAAB calls there immobilizer system a "TWICE" does the key FOB lock or control any function now? The immobilizer communicates with the RFID tag in the key and sends the key's ID to the TWICE module. The TWICE compares the key's ID to the one that its programmed for. It then sends a "Key accepted" signal to the car's BUS. The TWICE also interprets the ID of the remote control used. SEE Ignition photo ...
The only "ring" that has any wires going to it is part of the cover. There is also a remote control receiver located in the console. The TWICE module is under the drivers seat.
Auto_Centric PLEASE HELP... You seem to know a good amount about Saab I have a 2005 saab 9-3 convertible aero turbo I have the actual key but fob got broke off now I cant start car. I have called several locksmiths and finally found one tha will do for $950 i do not have that kind of money. Is there a way to bypass the key fob to use car?
I know this is an old post and I'm sure you have already taken care of it. It's really more if someone else has the same issue. The Saab models that have the fobs (shown in pic) without the blade exposed 2003 and up NG9-3 and some 9-5's, basically all CIM based models. There are options for all keys lost without spending any where near the $1,000 dollars. The CIM would have to be removed and sent out to add a key, When done all that has to be done is reinstall the CIM, Plug & play no other programming needed. It will start and run the car and also work the locks.
