timing chains shouldn't need changing at 80,000 miles. They generally last longer than Timing belts -- http://www.thesaabsite.com/93new/Saab-93-engine- timing- components.html#linkbar

I have over 250,000 miles on my 2006 Saab 9.3 and have not ever changed my timing chain and motor still runs great..!
