If your car is not overheating, don't worry about it. It's normal for one fan to run in ordinary driving in city and the other to kick on with A/C. That is to increase air flow past condenser as much as engine cooling At highway speeds neither runs anyway, there is enough air-flow to make the fans useless. But if your car IS overheating, please say so and we can figure it out
I tried to get your owners manual and service manual but the Subaru site only goes back to 2000. There is another one that says it has a 1997 Subaru Legacy manual but my virus detector went off like the 4th of July and had to get out fast
It ran hot once while sitting still..I got A 1502 cooling fan function problem
Gauge is in red going down road, but actual temp when in red is less than 203 because fan comes on at 203 and off at 195 but gauge says it is hot. I have had head gasket replaces both sending units thermostat replaced with 172,head was pressure tested found ok, new 16 lb radiator cap but when stopped with car in gear gauge goes back to half way and I can hear fan running
