Asked by YENKOSC1 Nov 20, 2012 at 09:32 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

MY C6 AUTO TRANS HAS LOCKED ME OUT OF PARK. IT ONLY WILL GO INTO REVERSE-NEUTRAL-DRIVE. THEREFORE YOU CAN'T SHUTDOWN CAR LEAVING IT IN THE ACC POSITION.  SINCE TJIS HAS HAPPENED THE BATTERY WENT DEAD AND ONCE IT WAS CHARGED THE CAR WILL NO LONGER START. SO NOW IS NEUTRAL AND NO POWER.

Sounds like it may be an ignition lock problem does it turn hard? Also if it does not return to park and the battery died the security system may have locked you out. The best thing to do is call a dealership if you have to replace ignition you will also need to reprogram new ignition and only the dealership can do that.
