normally the transmission controller will cause what is called a failsafe condition when it sees excessive slip in the transmission. best get your vehicle scanned and see if you have gear ratio codes.it could be a failed solenoid or a bad pressure switch of slipping clutches need more info

Maybe...just maybe you're stuck in limp mode and its throttle body related?
Found out that the 2005 Acra TL has a ONE year transmission. No other transmission will interchange, and only applies to this Pacific year, of such car having a 3.2 L. Am I being misinformed
