If you have a code for the knock sensor, it could be a problem with the sensor itself (easy to fix, just replace it) OR it could mean a problem with engine knock - that could mean timing is off, a sign of a failing timing chain. A knock sensor can be tested but requires specialized tools not commonly found in the home garage. Take it to a garage and have them diagnose the problem.
