Maybe the key wont turn because of a binding steering column or lock, a problem with the ignition switch, or a problem with the ignition key. Try this first, apply graphite or a lubricant, not too much, and gently move the steering wheel clockwise and counter clockwise as you try to turn the key. Also you can try another key a repeat the same method.

It isn't a switch problem it is buttom that you push in with your thumb remove the cover and you will see a pin sticking in the grear shift pull it out and you can remove the key from the switch and put it park when ever you like the only thing it will not be locked in gear anymore just bump the gear when driving.
