Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2003 Acura TL type S. Its transmission is
bad. I was wonder what models I could use as a
swap. For example. They have a 2001 TL NON type S
and I want to see if that will work on the 03 type s ?

00-03 tl are the same. U can use 00-03 type S there will not be an opening for the steering assist u don't need it,simply loop the hose coming off the steering rack. Only the tl has the steering assist the CL, type s and Odyssey are the same trans and doesn't have it. 02-04 Odyssey is the same trans just change the oil filter housing, dip stick etc. I have been doing this for 8+ years, I have sold estimated 800 plus trans. Simply place side by side and transfer items remember the transmissions all all the same just some superficial differences. 04-06 acuras are the same as 05-06 Odyssey and 03-07 Accord just take the flex plate from the accord and use that as the Odyssey and the acura have a bigger converter but as long as u have the fkex plate u can use the accord trans. Difference in size converter makes no difference. NEVER buy a transmission without pulling off the single solenoid on the side and id its not100% clear dont buy its no good! If you see particulate in your solenoid its finished u can clean it or flush it soon its going to go on u.
