2002 acura tl BASE to type s Engine swap
Asked by Ddvra Jul 20, 2016 at 09:04 PM about the 2002 Acura TL 3.2 FWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
OK so, I bought a 2002 tl with a blown motor. I got
a type s motor at a really good price because I was
told it will bolt up and be fine. The car is running
and drives, however, my engine light is on and it's
scanning at "crankshaft sensor circuit a " i just
bought a brand new sensor and replaced it but it's
still scanning at the same problem. What to do??

The code doesn't mean there s a problem with the crankshaft position sensor it can be in the circuit or the computer mapping.. You swapped the type S engine computer too right? the engine would run sub standard with a base model PCM.
OK so I didn't need to change the sensor...but I did not change the computer box to be honest. K need to get my emission testing done, and I can't because of this light issue. So what should I do next?

Code P0335 is caused by the following: - 1 degree signal is not entered to the ECM for the first few seconds during engine cranking. - 1 degree signal is not entered to the ECM during engine running Areas to look at: - Harness or Connectors - Crankshaft Position Sensor (POS) - Starter Motor / Starting System / Weak Battery
OK great, I will look into those tomorrow. Thank you so so much. I really appreciate it. I'll keep you posted.
I have a transmission from 02 Acura TL type s and I want to use it in my tl is not type s I want to know if it is competitive !!! will work !!!
Does the Base TL still run with the S Type motor in it?
