The AC doesn't directly affect the radiator coolant, it only puts another load on the engine, and the condenser acts like another radiator dissipating heat in the vicinity of the radiator. You changed a radiator hose so the question is did you properly bleed the air out of the system? There are bleeder valves that need to be opened to allow air to escape, otherwise the flow of coolant is impeded and you get overheating.

Yes, you have to bleed the air out of the system, most likely you have air bubbles that are preventing proper coolant flow, so it's overheating. Should be a guide on how to do this for your specific make/model online or in your owner's manual.
