my steering wheel is not locked but when i put my key in the ignition it wont turn

This seems to be a common problem with these cars. Some say lightly turning steering wheel to the left while trying to turn key works sometimes. Others say spraying a little bit of wd 40 on your key and working it back and forth in the ignition also helps with this.

My 2007 Kia Optima steering wheel spins in 360 without moving the tires or Wheels it was clunking then made one big clunking noise felt like a steering wheel got locked and I turned it a little bit and then it stopped steering the tires what could it be I cannot find any information
