Marquis 2007 Engine Oil Life

Hi dear All,
I have aGrand Marquis 2007 car. I have Engine oil
life 10% Message. However, I’ve just driven the car
2500 km. (I changed the oil 3 weeks ago) I’m not
sure if the service guy just forgot to change the life
to 100% after the last service he did, or it is really
left 10% . I’d like to know if the engine oil life
feature is measured automatically or it works on
manually set range?
I’ll be thankful to your help in this regards.

Service guy forgot to reset the maintenance minder. Change it every 7,500 (12,070 km) miles or 5,000 (8046 km) miles if operating on short trips or stop and go traffic or at 1 year whichever comes first. The oil life left is a calculation done by the computer that analyzes engine loads, speed, operating temps, driving style, etc.

Thanks dear Bob. Does that mean the engine oil life is calculated whatever is set manually ? The message displayed only shows the percentage remaining or does it really calculate the original life of the oil. For example, I have reset the life to 90% now. Would it display again REQUIRED OIL CHANGE if the oil is dirty or has no more life?
