Overheating >> Checked out and fans were kicking in correct > However, today
afternoon temp high 80's > on way home, temp climbed near red line, 249
degrees > Did this warp the aluminum heads ? > no visual or audio unusual
happenings from engine from engine.<<

If the engine did not fail you probably did not warp the heads. I would not drive it until you fix the over heating problems. A full cooling system service is where I would start.

I had it checked out by instrument today and it showed all o.k. per Vette manual >> I'm waiting for cool down and give it a test drive as the sun goes down > maybe the thermostat stuck >> good to hear your answer > if the engine did not fail > which it didn't > at least, I can sleep good tonight stay tuned <<

Have the cooling system flushed & replace the radiator , Hell the radiator is only 16 years old , Do you remember how Hot you thought you were at 16
