What is the black box on the top of the fan shroud
of a 1979 Buick Regal Sport Coupe Turbo?

I really don't know. But if I had to guess I'd suspect it's the computer for the turbocharger system. A factory shop manual will tell you for sure. Look on Ebay for a reasonably priced used one or check out Faxon Auto Literature in Riverside, CA. They have a website and offer reasonably priced reprints for shop manuals, owner's manuals, etc. Please let us know what you find out! I'll be curious to know! Jim
