Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Rear differential maintenance done per the maintenance schedule. Now the RAV4 sounds like an airplane inside when driving. Is this the driveshaft or something else?

It is the rear viscous coupling. Our mechanic suggested to do research - to look for a Technical Service Bulletin. An American TSB was found, which was honored by the local Canadian dealer. The repair was done, no charge even though the vehicle is beyond the power train warranty - 60 months/60,000 miles - 2007 / 120,000 kms. We were impressed.
