Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am third owner of a 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5
special edition the engine went on me at a 149000
miles. when I bought the car it only had 108,000 on
it. I did my routine oil changes and maintenance on
the car when needed to be. So my question is what
would be a suitable engine replacement?

A good crate engine will probably be cheaper than rebuilding your engine. What exactly "went"?

Get a rebuilt engine or a different vehicle. Did the timing belt break or the headgaskets let go?
