Just bought a 2007 Lincoln Navigator L. When I start the car I can usually hear a low rumbling not associated with the engine. I assume its a motor that fills the billows in the air suspension because it only does it for a few seconds and has never done it while driving. Is that the cause and is it normal?

I had a Lincoln with air ride suspension. I noticed if I parked on a hill (front end up) the air motor would turn on every time I turned the key on. If I parked level it rarely came on. Also if you put a load in the back, the air suspension will level the vehicle turning the air suspension motor on.
