Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van. Just the other day it is starting to make a
crackling/grinding noise when in drive. I notice it especially when sitting a a red light.
When I press on the gas pedal it will stop. Any ideas?

torque converter clutch. - http://etereman.com/blog/transmission-care/diagnosing-torque-converter-problems-procedures-for-all-vehicles - when it starts making this sound get it repaired or replaced asap, it can send small bits of metal into the transmission.
