The handle on the emergency brake release broke off. Is it necessary to replace the entire cable or can the handle itself be replaced?

There is a separate assembly for the plastic handle. It has a short cable attached to it. There should be a part number on the handle. You can order a new handle/cable assembly from your GM dealer. All of this work can be accomplished in the cab of the truck. http://thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mmq-Q_7neQCK8mL8t2t464Q.jpg
