Can someone help me with my AC Issue?

Asked by Guru9PWQ7Y Jun 13, 2022 at 11:02 PM about the 2007 Pontiac G6 Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi my name is Blair. I own a 2007 Pontiac G6. I am having issues with the ac
blowing cold.

I have check all fuses/relays. The AC compressor is turning on, and i can
physically hear it and i have checked the wire going to it with a test light and
it is getting power.

I have recharged the system with the proper gauges and it has sufficient
pressure through the system. Could it be a faulty compressor, evaporator, or
maybe the expansion valve.

I figured i check here before i start throwing too much money at it.

If the AC system pressures are normal for the ambient temperature and the gauge needles are not bouncing then you most likely have a blend door or door actuator problem.

R14 was never legal for automotive use, only R12 back when and now most are 134A. If your Toyota didn’t work right after the refit then something was done wrong or your system was not 134A compatible and the shop should have caught that before even trying a refit.

Check the pipes going into the passenger's compartment through the firewall. With the compressor running they should be cold and have water condensation on them. If they are it's a temperature door problem, under the dash. If the pipes are not cold, it's a refrigeration system problem (compressor, plugged orifice tube, saturated accumulator, low on refrigerant). Do you have automatic climate control? If so, the problem could be with the control panel on the dash or one of the sensors for the climate control system. Hope that helps! Jim
