sounds like the duck vents open and closing for a different setting
Do you get any air out of the defroster vents? The clicking may be 1) a failed (or failing) mode door actuator, or 2) a fan blower motor. Mode doors are what redirects where the air is directed to, they have small actuators that move them, depending on what setting you select. The actuators are just simple plastic gears with a tiny motor, so when they fail, they can make a "clicking" noise, a buzzing noise, or no noise at all. If it's not an actuator, it may be the fan blower motor, but you would know instantly if the fan were not working. BTW, there is no 'evaporator motor,' when you run the defroster you have the fan blower motor on, and the AC evaporator coil (to control condensation).
