Check Engine Light came on what is happening?

I have a Ford Escape 2008. I was driving on
the highway and my radiator hose popped
and smoked. then the check engine light
came on and she started stuttering and I just
dropped her off at the shop. what do you
think happened and how much do you think
it will be?

Car fixed and problem solved. Thermostat and water pump and radiator hose and coolant hose replaced.
