Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My son recently hit a deer. I am repairing the damage
now and I have found a sensor that I do not
recognize. It was hanging loose near the driver side
headlight assembly. Can someone help me identify it
and where it is supposed to go? I’m stumped.

That looks like an impact sensor for the airbag system. It should mount behind the front bumper. Hope that helps! Jim

could also be a temperature sensor.. they are in that general area.

I will test it by putting a pice of ice on it and checking the temp reading. Then I’ll look for the proper location in the bumper. Thank you both very much.
