Key in ignition/blinker noise quit on me. What can I do to fix it? Chevrolet Cobolt 2007 LS

First off, have you had your Colbalt in for all of it's recalls? Second did you install an aftermarket stereo?

It might be worth noting that the speaker on the front driver side doesn't work either

That's where the dinging comes from, the drivers left front speaker. Check it out it might be unplugged or just blown. Might be time for some upgraded speakers.
