What would cause my transmission to not engage any gears?

Asked by Allenmosher8908 Oct 12, 2019 at 07:06 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Impala LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving my 2007
chevy impala ls the
other day when I down
shifted to first but when
I went to put back in
drive nothing
happened.  I tried every
gear and the motor just
revs up and nothing
happens.  The tranny
never shifted hard or
clunked.  It had plenty
of fluid but the fluid
was really dark.  I am
pretty mechanically
inclined but have never
messed with a tranny
before.  Need help
please!!!!
