Ambient temp. display

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2008 Escape XLS. In the upper right corner of the radio display it has ext. temp
reading 50 degrees all the time. I found where the sensor should be but it is only a
cap.  If I buy a sensor will it work or does it need programming?

Bye switch and plug it in...
