Asked by Nickoli Mar 13, 2018 at 09:21 AM about the 2007 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

First off, thank you to anyone who reads/responds. I have a
2007 ford explorer.  Xlt 4x4 with the 4.0 engine. Sometimes
when I'm driving, the throttle makes a humming  Noise. But
goes away when I let go of the throttle. Also, it sometimes
shifts hard from park going into reverse.

Are you sure the noise is coming from the throttle? Noises can be misleading while driving. Have someone sit in the car with the window open and listen, noise could be coming from front rear wheel bearings or the axle.
