know how to assess all of the work done (eg good sign, bad sign).

High mile CVT's are a very expensive replacement which can happen at any time with a high mile car. Notice that I said replace, not repair? $8,000 or so! If your car has the 4 speed automatic there is less to worry about as they are pretty reliable. As always have your car checked out before buying.

If you're talking about a 2006, it definitely doesn't have a CVT. And, even if it's a 2010 or newer like mine, the dark clouds painted by numerous people on this forum are greatly exaggerated, in my opinion, regarding the performance and reliability of CVTs. Having all the service records is VERY DESIRABLE... Take a closer look at what was done and WHEN they serviced the car. It will tell you more than anything anymore on this forum can tell you. Good luck.
