Overheated and shut off

Cheryl, how many miles on your car?? When did you service the cooling system and belts? At 105,000 miles, you should have changed the timing belt, water pump, all belts, thermostat and changed and flushed the radiator and new coolant.... I'm sorry, it sounds like you over heated and quite possibly blew your head gaskets.. that's a really expensive deal.. sorry.

"really expensive" is "really" relative.. But I agree, could be one or both head gaskets. Try to answer Mark's ?'s as best you can.

Walth-. YES, I understand , but,. I should add that it also depends on the overall condition of the car, exterior and interior. If the car is otherwise in pristine condition, it might be relatively reasonable to repair the car and go 100,000 miles. BUT, if the car is a "beater", looks trashed, then I wouldn't bother going forward....and start over with another car. Most cars look the same within five years, but, after 10 years, there's a vast difference between many cars. If it's 10 years of hard driving, and over 150,000 miles,. It might be time to fold and walk away.

walth. --- I think we lost Cheryl. Based on what she told in her last post, I think she may have destroyed her car and is bailing to look for a replacement....

Maybe she just blew a top hose and got freaked by Mark's spanking?
