what is safe mode?

I just purchased my first Volkswagen, when I turned the radio on it said to enter password, I pushed something now its in Safe mode 2 what do I do now? I just purchased it and have no passwords..help!

check your trunk. under the carpet should be a sticker with your car's information on it. the code should be on there. if not it should also be in the manual and there should be directions in there as well. if none of that works, call the dealer you bought the car from. hopefully a vw dealer and not one of those "as is" schmucks you find in automart magazines. and last possible resort, if all else fails... you can go to a vw dealer and they might charge you $40. if that is the case i say just go buy a new radio.
