On my 1989 Mustang LX,

whenever we rev it up it pops as if it were timed, it pop every few seconds
without fail, what could it be?

I would also replace the distributor cap and rotor if it hasn't been done in 50K miles.

    Almost seems not to shift gear when press on gas when driving. When parked can reve engine and seems to have power.
