Help with '67 engine and tranny swap, Treason of the Highest Order

Asked by ThorSellsCars Jun 27, 2018 at 01:41 PM about the 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe RWD

Question type: Car Customization

I want to put a 3.9L 4BT Cummins in a '67 automatic. I'm having trouble
finding dimensions for transmissions as well as transmissions available for
the swap and what conversions would need to be done, I want to use a
sequential Turbo setup and push between 400-500hp and 500+lbs-ft of tq,
with a ford 9" rear end. any thoughts or advice? yes i know this is blasphemy,
But paintin her Blue/silver mettalic pearl, with an Apex red engine bay would
be glorious. currently the trans ive heard of are the T400, 700r4 and the 47rh

I think you need to get the setup you want and do a trial fit. You may need to modify the firewall and transmission tunnel to do this thing. If you want dimensions you should do your own measurements! Specs of engines and transmissions don't have dimensions, at least I have never seen them.
